Creating art on silk has
become a wonderful new media for me. I love the way the
paint flows across the silk with a stroke of the brush
almost as if it take on an identity of it's own. The
softness of the fabric combined with the natural
movement of the paint allows me more freedom of
self-expression. Watching my creation unfold and
add the final touches to each piece is tremendously rewarding to me as
an artist.
My
background as an illustrator, as well as my fascination
with all aspects of nature frequently influences the
theme of my fabric designs.
I am a
graduate of Ringling College of Art & Design, Sarasota,
Fl, class of 2000. Upon graduation I decided to become a
freelance artist painting oil and watercolor portraits
of family and pets.
Art is not
just a profession to me, it's my passion and first
love. Whether working on a website for a business or a
portrait I've been commissioned to do, I feel my work
reflects that love and passion.
I employ
various media such as oil, watercolor, pastels,
graphite, as well as computer generated artwork to help
create the mood I'm trying to convey or the point I'm
trying to get across.
I continue
to work as a freelance artist but I have now found
another great love......SILK
ART!
I now
divide my time between freelancing and teaching drawing,
watercolor and silk painting at
LET'S
DO
